Snakebite and the Iceman on Red-Hot Form

Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price both move into this weekend’s Premier League triple-header on red-hot form, as they both look to secure a top 4 place in one of the tightest League stages in the tournament’s history.

World Champion Peter moved into second place, just two points behind leader Glen Durrant, after a 7-4 win over Daryl Gurney last night and extended his unbeaten run to 5 games, with 4 wins.

Meanwhile, Price whitewashed the final challenger of the season, Jermaine Wattimena, to follow up on his emphatic 7-1 over Gary Anderson the night before. Price is now just a point outside of the top four and boasts an impressive +10 leg difference going into the second half of the tournament.

After the match Price said “My leg difference is fantastic but really all I am aiming to do is keep winning and keep picking up points and that plus count ticking over”

Price has been playing with ear plugs in and revealed that he’s been suffering from an ear infection “My ear infection is still a little bit there, so I put in the ear plugs and they just seem to help take my mind off it and I’ve been playing a bit better with them, they seem to balance me out a bit better.”

Peter Wright was in a buoyant mood after his victory saying “It’s great being up in second place, it’s been a while since I’ve found myself in this spot in the league!”

“We’ve got a long way to go yet though, there’s seven games to go, it could all change around but I’m feeling confident and played well. I’ve been consistent so let’s see where I can get to”

Peter faces World Cup of Darts team-mate Gary Anderson tonight, before a replay of last night’s game against Gurney and then rounding off the weekend with a showdown with Price.

Gerwyn Price faces three of the current top four in this Premier League weekend before the two-day break. First up is top of the table Glen Durrant, followed by World no.1 Michael van Gerwen before his match with World Champion Wright.

All the action will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK, on PDCTV for Rest of the World Subscribers and through the PDC's worldwide broadcast partners.
