Article: Scotty Clearly way too Hotty

Scotty Clearly way too Hotty

What a season Scott Waites has had with wins in the Winmau World Masters, The British Open and most recently the WDF World Cup Singles.

Is there any stopping Scotty Waites as he marches towards a defence of his 2010 Grand Slam Title and the World Professional at Lakeside.

We caught up with Scott to ask him a few questions on how he is playing so well.

How happy were you with winning the Winmau World Masters?

The World Masters is still one of my favourite events of the darts year, naturally as it’s played in Yorkshire so it was amazing to win in front of a home crowd against a fellow Yorkshire man Dean Winstanley.

When did your top form return as you seemed to cool off after Lakeside in 2011?

The Swedish Open in August gave me a big confidence boost by winning that, and it’s just carried on from there really. My form hasn’t dropped that badly, you just get some tough runs in the Opens as the standard of darts can be very high for a short period of time and that’s enough to lose a few games.

Are you looking forward to the Grandslam defending your title?

Yes I can’t wait as I’ve had two great events in 2009 and 2010 so hopefully can have another good run.

How are you handling your work life and darts balance?

It gets quite hard at times as it seems like I’m forever on the go, but I’ve done it for years now and it’s just normal for me.

What can we expect from you in 2012?

Hopefully some more titles with a bit of luck, as I’ll continue to work hard, keep playing well and enjoying my darts.

On behalf of Red Dragon we’d like to thanks Scott for taking the time to have a chat
