Salopian Ladies Super League 04/11/2022
As the Salopian Ladies Super League plays week seven games and reach the halfway stage of the season Charles Darwin are installed as the league’s new league leaders following a 3-2 victory away against Inn on the Green. Evonne Taylor (18.33) included a 22 darts leg in her game and set the visitors on their way to victory which was confirmed with further wins from Trish McDonell (10.98) and Karen Weston (14.99). Paula Davies (13.07) and Kate Leach (16.16) who both recorded 26 dart legs were the consolation winners for the hosts who remain third.
Bird in Hand continue their good form securing a third successive win in their home game against previous league leaders and local rivals Bagley Club. Debutant, Kate Titley (15.65) and Tracey Dean who fired in a 22 darts leg in what was the nights highest average of 20.04 had put the Bagley two nil up, however the Bird in Hand responded with wins for Romaine Bayliss (14.15) and Claire Boyle (14.82) to level matters before Katie Bellerby (19.51) won the final game of the night 3-0 which included a 20 darts leg. Victory sees the Bird In Hand move up to a season high fifth place.
The final game of the night was also a local affair and saw Heathgates play hosts to Compasses and it was the visitors who would emerge with the bragging rights following thier 3-2 win. Rachel Dunn (10.96) put the hosts ahead before Compasses responded with a hat trick of wins from Lynn Middleton (13.79), Allison Gallagher (14.45) and Steph Clarke (16.39) to confirm the visitors returned to winning ways. The win sees them move up one place to fourth. Helen Walmsley (12.21) claimed the final game for Heathgates but couldn’t prevent a third successive defeat that sees the “Gates” now just above the Telegraph who had a free week this week and remain at the foot of the table.
There are four players who having played four games or more that currently have a 100% win record, Bagley Club’s Tracey Dean has six wins from as many games whilst both Steph Clarke (Compasses) and Evonne Taylor have won all five of their games played. Katie Bellerby (Bird In Hand) is the other undefeated player with four straight wins.
