Report from Ranking Events Eight and Nine of the Streamline Taxis York Open Darts Championships 2015.

At the latest Ranking Events, Eight and Nine, of the Streamline Taxis York Open Darts Championships 2015 organised in Association with Red Dragon Darts, we have seen two of Yorkshire^s PDC Professionals provide first class entertainment and push their challenge for a top 16 place in the Order of Merit.

Ranking Event Eight saw York^s Stuart Limbert narrowly miss out on his first YDP event win going down 5-4 to Mexbrough^s Darren Johnson who included 2 x 180^s in legs of 19-16-14-16 before taking the decider in 15. Limbert registered 3 x 180^s a 118 and 161 finish in his winning legs of 15-12-20 and 21.

Johnson defeated Terry Temple 4-3 in the first semi-final the result being matched in the second where Limbert (2 x 180^s in legs of 15-17-16 and 17) defeated Richie Corner ( 2 x 180^s in legs of 16-15 and 14).

The Quarter Finals had Johnson producing a 180 for 17 and 20 to beat Mark Hartley (20) 3-1. Scott Bennett included a 125 finish but went down 3-2 to Temple. Limbert hit 16-14 and 180 for 18 dart legs in his 3-0 win over Mark Lawrence with Corner (141 finish for 15 and 14) disposing of Dave Copley by the same margin.

The Highest Checkout of the day, sponsored by Embassy Racing (York), was won by Stuart Limbert with a 161 finish. The Furthest Lady was Tracy Marran with Josh Sabin winning the Furthest Youth.

Jack Good won the Youth only event with Lewis Day Runner-up.

Terry Temple made amends for for his semi-final defeat in event 8 to take the Ranking Event Nine wining 5-0 against Dean Conley (180) with 17-16 and 16 darts. Temple (2 x 18-17 and 15) also whitewashed Tim Grice in the semi-finals with Conleytaking the other 4-1 against Kev Richmond.

The furthest Lady prize was won by Tina Platt with Jack Good and Jamie Branton sharing the Furthest Youth with the Embassy Racing Highest Checkout of the day going to John Bowler with 131. This finish was also achieved by Leighton Bennet when going out in 15 darts whilst winning the Youth only event. Lewis Day was Runner-up.

Ranking Event Ten is this Saturday at Huntington WMC in York. Players of all standards welcome. Register by 12.30pm for a 1pm start.
