Article: RED DRAGON TRIPLE SUPERSTAR SIGNING

RED DRAGON TRIPLE SUPERSTAR SIGNING

In an unprecedented treble announcement, Gerwyn "The Iceman" Price, Peter "Snakebite " Wright and Jonny “The Ferret” Clayton have committed their futures to Red Dragon Darts, taking them over a cumulative 40 years with the most exciting and specialist darts equipment brand.

These Red Dragon superstar players, have collectively won the last 3 World Championships, 27 televised titles and over 83 tournament victories, and more importantly 2 years as World No.1 between them.

The deals come off the back of Iceman, Snakebite and the Ferret’s most successful periods ever. These box office stars will continue to go head-to-head with the world’s best players with Red Dragon at their side.

‘The Iceman’ Gerwyn Price expressed huge satisfaction and delight at the new deal. "I’ve loved this company since I started playing darts," Gerwyn said in a statement announcing the fresh extension. "I’m really happy to continue this journey with Red Dragon."

Gerwyn added “They have been with me right from the very start and backed me all the way in my journey to become the world's best player, we have so much in common as people, that it's more of a family situation than a commercial arrangement to be really honest".

Always looking to build on his success, Peter fulfilled his dream of becoming the world’s best dart player. Peter commented, "To become Double World Champion and World No.1 all in the space of a few weeks was absolutely amazing and something I've always dreamt about and worked so hard to achieve".

Peter has turned himself into one of the most successful players in world darts having a wonderful ability to reel off leg after leg, with different sets of darts for every occasion. Raising much debate over the years, Snakebite has proven his doubters wrong time and time again, refusing not to end his quest for the perfect throw and set of darts.

The 52-year-old said last year that he was going to win both the World Championship and the World Matchplay, delivering on his promise after beating Michael Smith back in January.

In reaction to the re-signing, Peter said, "There is nothing more exciting than for me to know that I can think up another 1000 darts designs and know that the team at Red Dragon can make every single one of them, and that to me is absolutely priceless".

Jonny Clayton the talented West Walian has flourished ever since joining the PDC, and his talents are there for all to see with huge wins like the Premier League and racing to Number 7 in the world.

Jonny Clayton commented, “I remember walking into Red Dragon for the first time with Jamie Lewis long before I was on the PDC and they backed me there and then. That belief has never left and it’s amazing for us to continue this relationship and hopefully nick a few more titles off the rest of them!”

Simon Hall, Director of Marketing added, "Having Peter, Gerwyn and Jonny continuing to represent Red Dragon at the very highest level is a huge statement about our ambitions for the future. These talismen lead our brand as players and huge personalities, where they understand every tiny detail about who we are and how we strive to go forward, whether its grass roots campaigns like the Champion of Champions to developing new technology in supporting our players at Global Majors."

Iceman, Snakebite and The Ferret are not the only dart players Red Dragon sponsor. Simon Hall added, “We are blessed to have young star players like Luke Humphries who’s up to world Number 5 who resonate with global darts fans, and like Peter, Gezzy and Jonny their appeal stretches outside the sport, creating enormous excitement with electric on-oche performances while, at the same time, connecting with fans everywhere."
