Red Dragon Darts PDC Premier League betting review

Thursday is soon upon us once more, and as always, it bares gifts for the darting world.  The PDC Premier League will take place in Glasgow this week, with our 10 darting titans battling it out at the SSE Hydro to a sold out crowd.  We’ve taken a look ahead at what to look forward to.

James Wade v Adrian Lewis
Adrian Lewis has hardly been on form in this tournament so far.  The Stoke-born ace currently resides in 8th position, with only 1 win to his name.  Needless to say, we’re expecting more from him, and on his day he should oust The Machine with little trouble.  With that being said, Wade has been impressive so far, having only lost to Gary Anderson and Phil Taylor.  Based on recent form alone, this fixture seems to be Wade’s to lose.
Score Prediction: James Wade 7 – 4 Adrian Lewis

Peter Wright v Stephen Bunting
Both these men played well at the UK Open last week, and both come to this match on the back of Premier League wins.  Stephen Bunting, who disposed of Dave Chisnall last week with a 101 average, will be looking to consolidate that win with a victory over the fledging Peter Wright.   But Snakebite seems to be finding his form, fighting hard to secure a point against the likes of Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen and securing his first win last week against the ill-fated Kim Huybrechts.  Wright has been the more consistent performer here, and his Premier League experience might well play a part too.
Score Prediction: Peter Wright 7 – 5 Stephen Bunting

Raymond van Barneveld v Phil Taylor
This fixture might well throw up some surprises.  Barney, who has been far from his best in recent weeks, is more than acclimatised to the daunting prospect of Phil Taylor.  The Power, meanwhile, will be looking to bounce back after his 7-3 defeat to MvG last week.  On paper, Taylor should win it no problem, but we know that the 16 times World Champion can bring out the best in his Dutch rival, and if Barney comes out firing, we could be in for a treat.
Score Prediction:  Raymond van Barneveld 5 – 7 Phil Taylor

Kim Huybrechts v Gary Anderson
Huybrechts has been incredibly unfortunate in this tournament so far.  With a tournament average of 98.5, it beggars belief that he only has 1 win and 1 draw to his name.   Gary Anderson, meanwhile, has been enjoying a rich vein of form, returning to winning ways last Thursday with an emphatic 108 average over Adrian Lewis.  This pairing could be the dark-horse of Thursday’s line-up.  I’m predicting high scoring and 100+ averages from both players, but Anderson has to be the favourite.
Score Prediction: Kim Huybrechts 4 – 7 Gary Anderson

Dave Chisnall v Michael van Gerwen
Certainly the standout fixture of the night, this promises to be a high scoring tungsten tussle between the two in form dartists.  A win for Chizzy would see him leapfrog MvG at the top of the table, but this is certainly no easy feat.  The world number 1 is, as yet, undefeated, and isn’t showing any signs of relinquishing that record any time soon.  Chisnall, meanwhile, suffered his first defeat last week and might not be in the right frame of mind to topple Mighty Mike.  Expect lots of 180’s in this one, and a 5th win for Michael van Gerwen.
Score Prediction: Dave Chisnall 3 – 7  Michael van Gerwen
