Red Dragon Darts Marks 50 Years with Launch of Limited Classics

Honouring a Half Century of Innovation

2025 marks a monumental milestone for Red Dragon Darts, as the company celebrates 50 years at the forefront of darts engineering, craftsmanship, and competitive excellence. From humble beginnings in a South Wales garage to a global powerhouse in dart manufacturing, Red Dragon’s journey is one defined by innovation, passion, and a relentless drive for excellence.

“We’ve come a long way from that garage in Bridgend,” says Vince Bluck, Managing Director and son of founder John Bluck. “This campaign is a tribute to the passion and precision that built Red Dragon – honouring the past while forging ahead for the next 50 years.”

50 Year Product Campaign

The campaign’s opening act features the 50 Year Classics – four iconic darts pulled from Red Dragon’s historic archive and relaunched in their original designs to celebrate the darts that defined an era:

  • Chunky Stumpy – the grip that redefined compact control

  • Penetrator – a 1990s parallel-barrel pioneer

  • Shockwave – iconic Rainbow Spectron-coated powerhouse

  • Torpedo 2 – smooth, front-loaded velocity and control

Each model will be released in limited quantities, supported by short-form video content, packaging inserts, influencer seeding, and heritage-led storytelling.

In September, a second wave of launches will feature Limited Edition Player Darts and new shirtsfrom some of the sport’s biggest names:

  • Luke Humphries

  • Gian van Veen

  • Jonny Clayton

  • Peter Wright

  • Gerwyn Price

Each range has been developed in partnership with the players at Red Dragon’s Bridgend development lab.

“Every player is different, and that’s what drives us,” said Lee Huxtable, Red Dragon’s Head of Development. “Whether it’s Peter Wright’s diamond-coated dart or Humphries’ short-barrel setup, we’re always working to deliver that one setup that can unlock a player’s best game.”

Huxtable, one of the sport’s most accomplished dart designers, has developed world-title-winning darts for Gerwyn Price, Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright, and more, helping shape the careers of both legends and rising stars.

With over 30,000 sets of darts produced every week and a global footprint that spans the UK, Kenya, and the US, Red Dragon continues to define what it means to be a leader in precision sports engineering. Its vertically integrated operations mean every dart is designed, tested, and manufactured entirely in-house—ensuring unmatched consistency, quality control, and performance for players of all levels.

In 2024, Red Dragon reached two major milestones that signal the company’s continuing evolution. First, Nodor Inc was honoured with the King’s Award for Enterprise, one of the most prestigious recognitions for excellence in international trade. Second, the company secured a strategic investment from private equity firm Inflexion, fuelling ambitions for further international growth, smart-tech innovation, and expanded support for elite players.

From Bridgend to the World Stage

Red Dragon’s story began in 1975, when two former Ford engineers set up shop in a Bridgend garage. Their mission: to bring precision and accessibility to the sport of darts. By becoming the UK’s first direct-to-consumer tungsten dart brand, Red Dragon revolutionised the game—making professional-quality darts available to anyone with the passion to play.

Today, that mission lives on. Red Dragon proudly backs players across all levels, from Sunday night league regulars to world champions. The company currently supports four PDC World Champion winners in the last five years—including current World No. 1 Luke Humphries—a true testament to its elite-level expertise and player-first philosophy.

With only 1% of UK businesses reaching a 50-year milestone, Red Dragon stands tall—not only for its longevity, but for its continued commitment to excellence, innovation, and the global community of players and fans who make the sport great.
