Premier League Night Twelve: Littler Strikes Back With Liverpool Masterclass

Fast scoring. Clinical doubling. Big-stage presence. Luke Littler delivered another statement performance in Liverpool, storming to his fourth nightly win of the 2026 BetMGM Premier League season.

On a huge night at the M&S Bank Arena, Littler powered past Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen and Jonny Clayton to close the gap at the top of the table to just three points.

Focused from the start, Littler looked locked in.

He opened the night with a commanding 6–2 win over Humphries, punishing missed doubles and taking full control with ruthless finishing to book a semi-final clash against Van Gerwen.

Then came one of the matches of the season.

Van Gerwen fired in a huge 107+ average, landed nine maximums and hit 71% on the doubles but Littler refused to blink. Battling back from 3–1 down, the reigning World Champion found another level under pressure to edge a thrilling 6–5 victory.

And in the final, he exploded.

Facing league leader Clayton in a repeat of last week’s Rotterdam decider, Littler raced into a five-leg lead with relentless scoring and fearless finishing. Averaging 104.54, smashing in six 180s and pinning 60% on the doubles, he sealed a dominant 6–1 win with a stunning 11-darter.

Liverpool belonged to Littler.

Quarter-Finals

Gian van Veen 6–4 Gerwyn Price
Jonny Clayton 6–5 Stephen Bunting
Michael van Gerwen 6–3 Josh Rock
Luke Littler 6–2 Luke Humphries

Van Veen boosted his Finals Night hopes with a strong win over Price, while Clayton survived a high-pressure battle against home favourite Bunting in a game featuring 11 straight holds of throw. Van Gerwen ended Rock’s run of quarter-final wins, before Littler closed the session with a clinical display against Humphries.

Semi-Finals

Jonny Clayton 6–5 Gian van Veen
Luke Littler 6–5 Michael van Gerwen

Two deciding-leg battles delivered the drama. Clayton overturned a 3–1 deficit against Van Veen, producing huge checkouts of 121, 101 and 156 to complete the comeback. Littler then edged Van Gerwen in a heavyweight clash packed with power scoring and relentless pressure.

Final

Luke Littler 6–1 Jonny Clayton

A complete performance from Littler. Fast out of the blocks and impossible to slow down, he controlled the final from start to finish to claim another nightly title and cut Clayton’s lead at the summit.
