Plain Sailing for Noppert into Last 16
Game 2: Craig Caldwell 0-3 Daniel Day
England's Daniel Day cruised through his pre-lim with an impressive display. The Lakeside debutant was too much for Craig Caldwell to handle as he smashed his way into the 1st round proper with a 93 average.
When quizzed if he could play better, Daniel responded "Hopefully! I want to keep going from here, it was a great performance and i'm delighted to have settled in so well
"But, i want to keep going"
Day now comes up against Martin Phillips tomorrow evening.
Game 3: Richie Edwards 0-3 Danny Noppert
Last year's runner-up continued his impressive start with a comfortable 3-0 win over Richie Edwards. Noppert was in full flow as he out scored Edwards, topping the performance off with a 121 checkout to seal the 2nd leg. Next up for Noppie is No.2 seed Mark McGeeney.
Noppert was keen to look ahead to the next round: "I looking forward to the next match against Mark McGeeney. He's a good player and I know it will be a tough game
"I need to be much better than I've played in the last two games"
