MARK WEBSTER PRAISES NEW COACH WITH STRONG START TO THE SEASON

Welsh World Champion Mark Webster praised his new Sighting Coach after a solid start to 2015 with a productive weekend at the first three UK Open qualifiers of the year.
The former World Champion reached his first individual PDC semi-final for three years in Friday’s event and it took a deciding leg victory for world number one Michael van Gerwen to stop him progressing even further.
A further run to the last 16 on Sunday helped Webster, who has been working with SightRight expert Steve Feeney, end the events in a strong position in the UK Open Order of Merit, where he is sitting pretty in seventh.
His impressive performances at the first Pro Tour tournaments of the year mean he will almost certainly enter the UK Open at the third round stage, when the ITV tournament takes place next month.
Webster said: "I’m delighted with the start I’ve made but I need to keep it going now.
"I’ve not had the best of times for the last couple of years but working with Steve and his SightRight methods has given me belief again.
"You don’t become a bad player overnight and I’m on a bit of a free-roll now with not much prize money to defend so my aim is to keep improving and start climbing the rankings again.”
"What drew me to Steve’s work was seeing the amazing results that he has achieved with players accuracy in Darts, Snooker and Golf”.
A delighted Feeney added: "Mark’s improved form comes as no surprise to me and it is very much just a start.
"I have been working with him for just over six months and when he came to me we did a full performance review, analysing many aspects of his game – both technical and mental – and came up with a long-term strategy to correct a few imperfections that have crept in.
"Mark has been fantastic to work with. He’s been very honest and willing to put in the work. This is an ongoing process but his progress so far has been fantastic and I have every faith it will continue – as the old saying goes, form is temporary but class is permanent.”
