Premier League Judgement Night

Heading into the final two decisive games of the Premier League, Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price are still both in the hunt for play-off spots.

A 103 average and lethal 80% checkout rate from Peter Wright earned him a 8-5 win over Nathan Aspinall last night, propelling the World Champion into strong position in 3rd place.

Gerwyn Price kept his play-off hopes alive with a draw with Daryl Gurney, however the Iceman finds himself 6th in the table and will have to hope results go his way if he wants to book a spot at the O2.

Wrighty battled back from 5-3 down to rattle in 5 legs on the spin and said after the game "I'm happy with the win but not the way I played, my doubling success comes from practice, I'm forever practicing those two-dart checkouts and it showed tonight.

"Practicing simple things like that is what wins you games. Hopefully I can keep that going and be hard to beat."

Peter now faces table-topper Glen Durrant tonight before rounding off his campaign against Michael Smith.

A nip-and-tuck contest between Price and Gurney never saw more than two legs separate the players during the whole game.

After the draw Price said "I knew Daryl was going to come out firing tonight and I had to be on my game and I wasn't at the start.

"I've bombed too many games in this Premier League. I don't seem to win when I should and tonight was another case of that.

"It wouldn't surprise me if I ended up finishing fifth because of those missed opportunities.

"It depends how other results go now but I'm going to try to win the last two and see where I end up."

Michael Smith and Gary Anderson stand in-between Gerwyn Price and that fourth spot, both must wins for the back-to-back Grand Slam champion.
