Jamie Lewis fights on with Red Dragon Darts

Jamie ‘Fireball’ Lewis fights on to rescue his career as he re-signs his playing sponsorship with Red Dragon Darts.

Jamie has been in love with darts since he was a youngster and showed his dedication and love for the game in his early years taking home the WDF Youth World Cup, Boys World Masters and a pair of PDC youth tours.

Fireball has continued his success from a youngster and won his first PDC tour card back in 2012 at the age of 20 years old. Whilst qualified for the PDC tours, Jamie climbed the ranks and broke into the top 32 in the world in 2015.

Gaining experience against some big names on the oche, Fireball improved his confidence and made a massive name for himself reaching the semi-finals against Phil Taylor in the 2018 World Championships, beating the now double World Champion Peter "Snakebite" Wright with an astonishing 108 average.

Lewis has taken some much needed time off over COVID and has spoken publicly about has anxiety has affected him during the restrictions in place causing to drop off and lose his tour card.

Ready to fight back, Fireball is hot and focussed on competing in tournaments and the WDF ranking system will the aim of getting back to the top where he once was and join other Welsh competitors, such as Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton.

Simon Hall, Red Dragon's Marketing Director said ‘It's no secret that Jamie has been facing some serious issues both on and off the Oche, and its genuinely hard to see especially when Jamie and his family have become so close to us here, the decision to roll our sleeves up and fight with Jamie was an easy one as we know he has the raw talent and age on his side. Jamie has lots of hard work top od in re-building his confidence and game and we'll be there with him for whatever he needs, like his Dad said over 15 years ago we know he's destined for a World Championship Title!"

Jamie will be looking to get back on the darting circuit this year and accumulate as many wins as possible with the hopes of claiming his very first men’s major title. Jamie added ‘Red Dragon have been with me every step of my Darts career through thick and thin and I'm relishing getting back to playing at the top of my potential that I know is still very much my passion".
