"Dawson Does It Again"
Dawson started his day with 13-17 and 17 darts but could have been despatched by Richie Corner in the first round who included 16 and then missed a 61 finish to inflict the first defeat on Dawson in this years event.
Dawson^s route to the final included 13 and 14 darts in beating Trevor Day then a 3-1 victory over Chris Thompson, 3-2 win over PDC^s Mark Lawrence followed by 4-1 over Ray Mcinally in the Semi-finals.
Dawson, finishing with a 91.65 average, added 14-19-136 finish for 12 and 14 dart legs to defeat York^s Craig Wedge 5-0 in the final.
Wedge 180 for 15-16-18 beat Pickerings Bill Hague (16-18) 4-3 in the second semi-final and an 18 dart leg was the highlight in his 3-2 quarter final win over Steve Vine. Other 1/4 Final results saw Mcinally (17-18-20) end Cameron Spiller^s run and Hague defeated Neil Hart (16) 3-2.

A total of 16 x 180^s were recorded with Cooper (3), Hart, Lawrence, Wedge and King two each and Lee McManus, Harteveld, Mathews, Peter Rushby and Harland adding one a piece.
The highest checkout of the day came from Mark Lawrence 144 closely followed by Lord 141, Dawson 136 and Chris Quantock 109 with Russ King hitting two ton plus finishes 115 and 114.
Ranking Stage 5 takes place on Saturday 29th March where the question on everyone^s lips is.......can anyone stop Mr Dawson?
