In division two leaders The Harvester were held to a 4-4 draw at home by second in the table The Pirates who with six points are two behind Harvester with a game in hand. A 5-3 win by Holy Souls over Mackadown Social ‘B’ has seen them move up two places to third, three points adrift of Harvester but again with a game in hand.
Highwood KB are the only team in the four divisions to have won all of their fixtures so far, their latest 7-2 win over Crown Arrows taking their unbeaten run to four games and putting them in pole position in division three, however they only have a one point lead over second placed Yardley Ex Colts who won 5-3 at Willclare Sports and Social.
Just one point separates the top two teams in division four Ridgemere Flights taking over the top spot from Highwood Exiles after beating them 7-1, and a similar win by Small Heath Amateur Gardeners at Ridgemere Ladies places them in the number two position with six points, Exiles now in third place are also on six points but they have played one game more than the two teams above them.

Both group one and two in the South Birmingham League produced a top versus bottom fixture this week and
both of them saw the leaders win 7-1. In group one Coleshill Social won away at The Bell while in group two, Erdington Members Club also won away against The Kingfisher. Both of the winning teams now have a two points lead at the top of the table. Mackadown Social are also two points to the good in group three after they beat The Dog 5-3 to knock their opponents down into third place on two points two behind Banbury Arrows who have taken over in second place following their 7-1 win over Toby Jug.

Cup week in the Forest of Arden Summer League, the Knockout Cup, but it was not a good week for Highwood as Greville Arms, Riley’s Resurrected, Journeys End and Journeys End Flights all won through to the next round with respective wins over Highwood KB, Highwood Exiles, Highwood Arms and Ivy Leaf.

Louis Burley has taken over from Kevin Harris at the top of the Winmau Centre Thursday Night Champions League, his 6-1 win over Rob Harris and 5-2 success against Mick O’Neill giving him a total of 105 points from 19 games and nine more than Harris who had similar wins against Chris Fox and Devinder Singh, although Harris now has a game in hand on Burley a 7-0 win would still leave him two short of his rival’s total.
Third in the table Mick Baker who won last season’s contest played just one game in which he beat Simon Meredith 6-1 to leave him three points short of Harris with 93.

The Harborne League have got their new season underway with a new format this season as they have added a doubles league to their already established singles league.
Early pacesetters in both tables is Weoley Hill Pub who won their singles game against Smethwick Labour Club 5-1 and the doubles 10-6 to put them top of both tables. Weoley Castle WMC share the singles number one spot as they also 5-1 against Avenue Social but its Hillyfields ‘A’ who are second in the doubles table as they had a 9-5 win against their local rivals Hillyfields ‘B’ after losing out in the singles 4-2.

It’s week one in the Camp Hill’s new season and Holy Gulp kicked off in style as they handed their visitors Emerald Club a 7-0 whitewash to head the table. The Winmau Centre Monday Night League are up to week fifteen in their season and last season’s champions 3 Yam Yams and A.Stokie (formerly What Are Thooose) chalked up the week’s biggest win a huge 44-4 against Where’s My Team to give them a fifteen points lead over second placed Is It In who were 42-6 winners against bottom of the table Double Trouble, 3 Yam Yams now looking a good bet to hold on to their title.
Third placed The Outcasts are a further 19 points behind despite recording a 37-11 win over Full Montie.

The Stourbridge and District Monday Night League played off the finals of their doubles knockout and winning the title with a final 2-0 victory over S.Bloomer and B/Fitzgerald were S.Mills and M.Rollinson.
In the quarter and semi final games Mills and Rollinson won both 2-0 first against R.Colly and J.Williams and then accounted for I.Walker and D.J.Hunt jnr, while Bloomer and Fitzgerald won their last eight game against D.Simpson and I.Matther 2-1 and booked their final place with a 2-0 win against R.Hill and C.Fox.

The Sutton and District League had the semi finals of their Prestridge and Roy Bird Shield’s on their fixture card this week neither of which produced any shock results. In the Prestridge Shield division one leader’s Boldmere St Michaels beat bottom of the division Pint Pot Flights 5-4 while second in the same division The Beehive won by the same margin against next to bottom Red Lion.
The Roy Bird Shield games both finished with 6-3 scorelines St Thomas’s Club, despite a maximum from W.Taylor losing to Golden Hind and Old Oscott Arrows defeated Boot Inn.

Five of the eight games in week 24 of the Brierley Hill Monday Night League finished with a 6-3 result leaders Dudley Sports ‘C’ being one of those five as they accounted for their visitors Blue Brick who drop one place to sixth in the table. The top two teams in the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League Dewdrop and Island Inn were both close 4-3 winners this week Dewdrop holding on to the top spot and their two point’s advantage with their win over Jolly Collier while Island Inn beat New Talbot. It is with regret I have to report that Dennis Stokes, a man involved in darts throughout the Midlands and byond including the Warwickshire County Darts Organisation has lost his battle with illness and on Tuesday July 12th sadly passed away.

The funeral will take place on Tuesday 2nd August, 1.00pm at Yardley Crematorium, Yardley Road, B25 8NA followed by refreshments and a buffet at The Crown at Olton, 2 Masons Close, B92 7JE.
There will be no flowers at the request of Dennis but any donations in lieu of flowers will go to the Air Ambulance.
