With three consecutive wins out of a possible four in the premier division of the BDO Inter Counties Championships, Warwickshire will be hoping this weekend to extend their winning run when they take on Yorkshire at home at the Canley Sports and Social Club, Coventry. In division three West Midlands will travel away to take on Clwyd. Following their 25-11 victory over Montgomery and Radnor, their biggest of the season so far, they will be looking to continue in the same vein. It’s as you were at the top of division one of the Longwood Winter league, with the top two teams Globe and Dolphin both chalking up 7-1 wins over respective opponents Red Lion ’A’ and Plough and Harrow. Globe remain in pole position with 15 points, one ore than their rivals Dolphin.

Queens ’A’, as a result of their surprising 5-3 defeat at Mercian, have been replaced at the top of the second division table by none other than their own ’B’ team, who had a 6-2 home win against Jolly Sailor. The ’B’ side now have 13 points, two more than second placed ’A’.

Custard House finished on the wrong side of a 6-3 scoreline against the Antelope in the Small Heath Winter league and have fallen two points behind leaders Heartlands Club, who beat Gunmakers 7-2 to make it two wins in as many games. The only other undefeated team in the league is the Antelope, they have played one game fewer than Heartlands.

There were 6-3 wins for both Tipton and Chadsmoor against respective opponents Wednesfield and Penkridge in the West Midlands Men’s Super league. Warley and Oldbury, in turn defeated Wednesbury and Blakenhall 5-4.

The Cross Guns, Rodway Close, Newtown, Birmingham are presenting a series of three Sunday lunch time knockouts supported by Oakwell Brewery, Barnsley, commencing on the 25th January at 1-00pm.All entry fees will be paid out in prize money.
