Dennis “Smiffy” Smith is a stalwart on the PDC circuit, having been playing on the circuit since 1994, as a Major contender with a plethora of Open wins.
Smith is known for his very unusual and deadly throwing action, turning the dart into a ‘flight first’ position before returning it to a ‘point first’ position. This measured action was a result of learning his trade under the tutelage of Phil Taylor.
Smiffy qualified for the 2009 PDC World Darts Championship, winning four matches at the qualifiers in Telford to take one of the last eight places at the Alexandra Palace. He caused a major surprise by beating number five seed Terry Jenkins in the first round. He then defeated Kevin McDine in the second round, coming from 3 sets to nil down to level the match at three sets all and eventually won the match 4-3.
Dennis Darts are super slim with a smoked effect finish for a perfectly balanced grip, and Dennis loved getting his trusty old arrows modernised by Red Dragon.
“I didn’t think that I would be able to find a dart that felt as good as my 20 year old worn down barrels, but the work Red Dragon have done is simply amazing, and I swapped to my new darts immediately”.
