YDP Pro-am Knockout 3 (report) "Rice^s Crisp Performance worthy of a Pro
Hot favourite Steve Rice qualified for The YDP Pro-am Grand Finals, taking place at Huntington WMC in York this Autumn, without dropping a leg in his five winning matches. Twenty-five locals attend the The Greyhound in Bridlington where all had aspirations of making the grand finals where eight top BDO Professionals will be on show.
Rice had earlier included 21 darts and 180 plus 174 scores in 14 darts before defeating Stuart Inglis (Bridlington) with 19 and 21 darts in the semi-finals after Inglis had hit two bulls to win the off. Darren Boyd (Bridlington) also kept a clean sheet up to the finals beating Howard Berridge (Bridlington) 2-0 in the second semi-final.
The 1/4 Finals saw all matches going 2-0 with Boyd beating Chris Brooker (Bridlington), Berridge too strong for Andy Wheeler (Bridlington), Rice winning Andy Senior (Bridlington) and Inglis defeating Hunmanby^s Carl South.
In the earlier round Inglis included a 15 dart leg and a 140 finish. Austin Brown also closed a 21 dart leg with a 140 checkout whilst Richard Heathcote (21) and Howard Berridge (20) were the only other games of note.
