Winmau Darts Centre at Wolverhampton Indoor Community Sports Stadium by Alan Towe

August 20th will see the Wolverhampton Indoor Community Sports Stadium stage the fourth in their highly prestigious Winmau BDO Wolverhampton Open competitions which again will carry a cracking £3,000 prize fund with the eventual winner taking home a cool £1,000, plus the winner will be entered into the 2016 Winmau World Masters and the 2017 Lakeside Playoffs. In addition there will be prize money paid out to players reaching the last sixteen of the competition.

On the weekend of the 23 and 24th July the Winmau Centre in the Wolverhampton Indoor Community Sports Stadium will once again be hosting the BDO Festival of Youth Darts with four competitions over the weekend.
All completed entry forms together with cheques or postal orders made payable to British Darts Organisation should be sent to British Darts Organisation, Unit 4, Glan-Y-Llyn Industrial Estate, Taffs Well, Cardiff, CF15 7JD.
Closing date for entry is the 20th July 2016 entries may also be taken over the phone using a Debit/Credit Card by phoning the BDO Office on 02920-811815 between 8.30am - 4.30pm. Debit Cards are free and a small charge is made for Credit Cards.
All players must be eligible for the Winmau World Masters and World Professional Play-Offs.

At the time of going to print the Winmau Centre Thursday Night Champions League’s new season is up to week five in which there was a setback for current leader Kevin Harris as he slipped to a 4-3 defeat against middle of the table Jay Hough. Reigning champion Mick Baker followed up a 6-1 win over Davinder Singh with a 4-3 win against Rob Harris to give him 60 points from eleven games leaving him nine points behind Harris with two games in hand. Baker has won all of his eleven games so far and the only other undefeated player in the 24 man league is Louis Burley who has moved up into third place with 58 points from ten games his latest wins being 7-0 against Paul Walters and 4-3 over Paul Boddison.

The popular Winmau Centre Monday Night League is up to week ten and a 39-9 win over Full Montie has seen 3 Yam Yams and A.Stokie open up a fourteen points lead at the top of the table and helping them on their way was Owen Maiden with a 180 and Mark Daniel with a superb 154 game shot. Second in the table Is It In were 29-19 winners against The Untouchables, Jimmy Handley in fine form for the winners as he notched no fewer than four maximums and also recorded a 156 finish, James Owen also hit a 180 for the victors.
