RED DRAGONS NEW BOY WESLEY HARMS IN SEMI FINAL FOR SECOND YEAR
After the match we spoke with an emotional Wes about playing another high quality Quarter final at the Lakeside.
How tough was that game for you?
"It was such an amazing game and we got some really good momentum off each other right from the first set, when I saw that I had a 161 left I knew that I had to take this out to win the first set, and luckily I did. That gave me great confidence as Darrel kept playing great darts and I felt that I was chasing him to keep in the match. The crowd were really fired up and helped keep the scoring going, and luckily I just managed to close out a few more doubles”.
What was the atmosphere like?
The atmosphere is electric as it goes form quiet to mayhem in seconds, with the crowd literally breathing down your neck.
What are the changes in your new darts?
I changed my darts just before the Lakeside after working with the Team at Red dragon to get me more grip on exactly the same weight and length dart that I’m used to.
but I had been doing lots of practice with them and the grip levels they give me are perfect. I wear my gloves before I paly to get tacky hands and these darts make sure that I can feel the grip even when it gets really hot.
Second Semi-Final in 2 years against Tony O’Shea how does that feel?
Tony is such a great player and massive crowd favourite that it’s going to be really hard for me to get on top, as we had such a close game last year. If I can keep playing my darts then I’m sure it will be another great game.
