Article: Micheal Van Gerwin flying high in the Real Tour Rankings

Micheal Van Gerwin flying high in the Real Tour Rankings

The current Two-Year PDC Tour ranking can be somewhat confusing as to the real standings of players form during the present season.

Although the Pro-Tour and Players Championships offset a yearly ranking, nothing really beats a true table of form going into the next World Championships.

The tables below confirm who the form players really are this season with a few nice surprises. It^s no surprise that the evergreen Phil Taylor tops both tables, ending any speculation about his abilities or form.

However, it must be the first time in many a year that anyone has got so close as to be breathing down his neck.

Micheal Van Gerwin it would seem has really started to fulfil his childhood wonder kid label. At age 17 Micheal won the Winmau World Masters in 2006, and the sky seemed the limit. However, as is often the case his switch over the PDC seemed cooled his dander, for what is almost 5 years.

The Red Dragon World Ranking system that only runs yearly, reflects the figures form the PDC but allows for BDO players to be compared as events get a weighted average depending on how major they are.

This RDWR has only two players from the BDO in Tony O^Shea and Stephen Bunting, who has really started to find his feet.

With both tables accurately representing current major form one things for sure the 2012 Christmas of darts heralds a feast of upsets, and the possibility of a New pair of World Champions.
