Jenkins beaten in fourth round

LEDBURY marksman Terry Jenkins was knocked out of the Blue Square UK Open at the fourth round stage at the hands of reigning world champion John Part.

The Canadian ace battled his way to a gritty 9-6 victory over Jenkins at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton last Thursday as some of the sport^s top stars battled it out.

Jenkins had booked his place in the fourth round with a convincing 9-1 triumph over Andy Smith in board six earlier at the event.

His fourth round exit continues a poor few weeks for the Ledbury man after he failed to make the final stages of the Premier League Darts tournament last month.

Jenkins finished second bottom of the Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts table after a heavy defeat to Dutchman Raymond van Barneveld in his final match of the series of contests.
