With only one week’s fixtures remaining in the Kingstanding Double Top League the title is still in the balance with any one of the top three players Pat Koyce, William Naylor and Mike McFall in with a chance of winning. Ironically the top three all play each other in the final week’s games and it is those results that will decide who is champion.
Currently Koyce leads the way with 59 points from 33 games Naylor is second and has a total of 57 points from the same number of games. Mike McFall on 54 points may be five adrift of Koyce but he has a game in hand on both player above him, so the final night should be quite interesting and also very tense.

The Royal at Albrighton staged the first of what will become a series of knockouts and the winner of the inaugural competition was Andy Roberts who collected the top prize after defeating Steve Ritchie in the final, Ritchie receiving £50.
Losing semi finalists were Simon Pritchard and Mark Pardon who each picked up £25.
It is planned for a similar knockout to be staged every three months.

John Eaves is in the process of resurrecting the former knockout in aid of Action Heart but to do so requires a sponsor to help with the prize money, anyone or any company interested in supporting a truly worthy cause should contact John on 0121-574-8572.
